4/8/2025-That blasted Spring Fever thing

Skill
It’s okay lounging around with the Spring Fever for an afternoon or so, but remember you’re in prime Q4 selling season. The sooner you heal, the better your year will be.
Great job yesterday…you made your calls and prospected like a monster, but today you feel a little stuffy. Spring is in full bloom but you know it’s not allergies.
You got The Fever!
The Spring – I-want-to-spend-all-morning-at-the-dog-park – Fever.
Go ahead…sit a little longer at the park this morning. Perhaps later, you and your client will enjoy an al fresco lunch and loiter a bit with two post-meal cappuccinos. (Live a little!!!)
Ahhhhh….spring!
Do
If you must succumb to The Fever today, that’s okay. Your engines can’t run at max forever. (And there’s nothing worse than staring at your screen, going through the motions, and getting zero done.)
BUT…while you’re coasting…your competitors aren’t.
Do what you need to do to make this a one-day affliction.
(BTW, does anyone in the TOP 10% catch The Fever? …askin’ for a friend.)
Because Spring Fever can steal your focus and slow your momentum, you need to think about it like any other physical illness.
You spend a lot of energy trying to stay physically fit so you can stay in the game and compete at a high level, so it makes sense that you also stay psychologically strong.
At the same time, cut yourself slack and allow a breather here and there during spring; after all, it is a rejuvenating time of the year, and your bio-chemistry is re-loading for a long Q2-Q4 stretch. All the while, appreciate that you’re selling for Q4 right now, so you really don’t have too much leeway to goof off.
Oomph
If you watch this insipid YT Short of a young boy rolling a ping-pong ball through every room of his house – and you’re entertained until the end – then yes, you have The Fever.
Drinking plenty of liquids and sleeping won’t work here…you need to shut down The Fever using your brain.
Get back to your warrior self.
