Just as you are an expert at selling, Thích Nhất Hạnh was an expert at breathing.
Mr. Hạnh was a Vietnamese Thiền Buddhist monk, peace activist, prolific author, poet, and teacher, who founded the Plum Village Tradition, historically recognized as the main inspiration for engaged Buddhism.
One might think an involuntary physical action like breathing shouldn’t require too much skill, but mindfulness breathing does!
You may have been gasping for air during the week, but the week is over. Make this weekend about feeling the bottom of your lungs!
Do
In addition to your fun weekend routines, add breathing exercises to the list.
You don’t do anything half-assed during the week, so don’t H.A. your breathing this weekend.
Open your Calm app and find a meditation that focuses on breathing. And if you are a habitual meditator (great!), then do that too. Your body and mind need to recharge, and there’s nothing better than oxygen to help with that.
