10/4/2024-Prospect or do The Death Crawl

Published on

Skill

While there are activities you can create that make prospecting less mundane, you’ll still need to fight through the self-imposed barriers that limit your hunting time.

Success in sales is based on the consistent application of small habits and repeated actions. (You know this.)

But how do you psyche up for prospecting? It’s one of the more tedious activities of all the essential selling behaviors.

Is it easier to prospect alongside a "buddy" in your office? Or do you need complete silence and to be left alone in a dark room?

Are you more successful at finding good leads when you ask for referrals?

What about bursts? ….powering through 20-minute blocks where you do nothing but "smile and dial."

Figure out your best prospecting approach.

Do

Perhaps these ideas will help you jump-start your DOing today:

1. Create a prospecting club. Grab two or three of your BFFs and designate a time 3x/week for prospecting. Create games to tap your competitive juices.

2. Play the "Who do you know?" game with a different seller on your team each week. Grab a pal and block off a half-hour to review connections. (It’s less tedious to comb through LinkedIn when comparing shared connections with another person.)

Whatever you DO…prospect today.

Oomph

Would you rather prospect or do The Death Crawl from the movie Facing the Giants?

(After watching this short clip, you’ll wanna prospect!)

If you don’t feel empowered from this emotional scene, then your BP is flatlining and you better hustle to urgent care.

Get proud. Get hungry. Get motivated.
