Skill

Immediately after you laugh, 15 muscles in your beautiful face contract and relax. (Uh-huh! They do!)

Not only that…but the zygomatic major muscle, which lifts your upper lip, is stimulated.

The general relaxation you feel throughout your body is because your intercostal muscles and diaphragm contract…yes….your intercostal muscles.

And, as you’ve heard before, laughter releases neurochemicals in your body, like endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin. That release action is why your mood improves with laughter.

Pretty cool, huh?

Do

This weekend, put "laugh" on your calendar.

Whatever you gotta do to laugh, do it.

Plan an activity with your funniest friend.

Zoom with your college BFF who still makes you giggle.

Watch your favorite Jim Carey movie for the 16th time.

Or, make the decision to laugh at everything and anything…including the absurd things that come of your BFF’s mouth from time to time!

Oomph

This insanely funny – and R-rated – meditation might be up your alley today.

When you’re done with it, tune into Dumb and Dumber for the Nth time. Or whatever movie makes you giggle.

Quote of the day
