Skill

There’s a reason lots of people try sales and then leave for other jobs. It’s a huge heap of pressure! Recognize that your commitment fuels your success…so be proud of your WINS.

Are ya still having traction issues two weeks into the new year?

That’s normal…’24 was an exhausting race, and January is a dark slog.

Writing in a Wins Journal will help you record micro achievements that make you feel accomplished and motivated.

A life in sales is great fun, but your days are filled with scores of tasks, meetings, conversations, emails, and other minutiae. You don’t want to go to bed each night asking yourself, "…so what exactly did I accomplish today?"

Remember, brick by brick….!

Do

Undoubtedly, the last thing you want to do at the end of the day is pound on your keyboard for another three minutes.

But before deciding not to commit to a WJ… try it for a week.

Tonight at 6p, write down a few of today’s wins (and date) in a cloud sheet. You might record something epic, like receiving an order from a prospect you’ve been chasing for a long while, or simply bagging a meeting with a big wig.

Recording your wins will make you proud today, and later when you’ll appreciate reviewing your daily achievements.

What separates you from others you compete against? Is it your knowledge of your industry? Is it your effervescent personality? Is it your skill set? Or…is it your guile…your commitment? (PICK D….PICK D!)

At the end of the day, not much separates you from most other sellers. There are talented, skilled professionals in every industry, selling all kinds of stuff out there.

What separates the TOP 10% from the others is coimmitment. Dedication. Pure drive to get it done…and get it done right.

Sure, there are other definitions of what it means to be a professional, but at the end of the day, your desire and grit will separate you and get you the rewards you seek.

You spend incredible amounts of energy chasing and winning business…why wouldn’t you spend just three minutes a day patting yourself on the back, charting your WINS?

Oomph

A Wins Journal will make you feel empowered. And feeling successful is a massive part of your selling gameplan.

"What I’ve Learned From Reading Over 10,000 Diaries" is the excellent title of this fascinating TED Talk by Sally MacNamara Ivey. She opens with, "I read diaries for a living." (Wow….!)

Whether or not it motivates you to start WJing or not, it’s a great watch.

Quote of the day
