Track your victories to stay high

Skill

It’s normal to still be searching for momentum at this time in the new year…January is a dark slog. However, the sooner you hit your top gear, the better. And as you know, momentum is self-generated.

Writing in a Wins Journal regularly will give you that extra gear because you’ll visibly see the micro achievements you hit each day. It adds up!

The last thing you want to ask yourself at day’s end is, "What exactly did I accomplish today?"

Do

Undoubtedly, the last thing you want to do at the end of the day – any day – is pound on your keyboard for another five minutes.

But before deciding not to commit to a WJ… try it until the end of this month.

Tonight at 6p, write down two or three wins from today in a sheet. You might record something epic, like receiving an order from a prospect you’ve been chasing for a long while, or you’ll record bagging a meeting with a bigwig. Don’t worry about the size of the accomplishment…if it thrills you, write it down.

"What I’ve Learned From Reading Over 10,000 Diaries" is the excellent title to this fascinating TED Talk by Sally MacNamara Ivey. She opens with, "I read diaries for a living….other people’s diaries."

You should watch it – it’ll give you a push on your Wins Journal habit that will charge you.

Sellers who feel successful are more likely to be successful. And WJs will make you feel successful and achieving.
