Skill

Some may argue that integrity is innate…after all, your parents are wonderful and taught you well. But there’s pressure in today’s sales game that constantly challenges your integrity.

Because you’re watching.

That’s why integrity is important.

There are many opportunities to cut corners and scheme your way through your sales day…but how much fun is that? How real is the win? How authentic are the skill development, learning, and achievements?

Integrity is the big eye-in-the-sky (YOURS) that creates equilibrium everywhere in the universe. Laws, rules – plus Terms & Conditions – are the general boundaries that keep us from whacking each other senseless, but integrity is the glue.

Do

Today, meditate on how you can tighten it up a bit…ya know, the way you play the game and fight the fight!

Every seller knows their mirror represents the toughest customer – that face staring back never lies. So what if, upon your next hard convo with whomever (a customer, your enablement aide), or upon that next big decision you need to make, you stare into that mirror a few seconds longer?

Today, think about what it means to "do the right thing." Not just for your customer, but for you!

You help seniors cross the street. (Nice.)

You don’t grow impatient with your mom when she asks what you had for dinner last night. (Good.)

You’re always polite to the barista who screws up your coffee order…every morning. (Wow!)

You’re a nice, responsible, humble, honest human being.

But all that stuff describes being a nice, compassionate person. Integrity is a few steps above all that.

YOU, and only you, are the judge and jury on how you treat people…and manage sticky situations.

Some may argue that integrity is innate…after all, your parents are wonderful people and taught you well. And that’s partly true. But there’s so much pressure in today’s sales game that you – and your integrity – are constantly challenged. (That’s a good thing.)

Just as your objection-handling, presentation, and emailing skills can be improved with work and study, so can your integrity. Keep lookin’ in the mirror!

If you can catch Galaxy Business Maestro Warren Buffett sharing his views on topics like integrity and how it applies to business and sales…it’s wise to listen.

Well…you can.

Watch this 4-minute clip as Warren challenges a class of students to make a bet on each other’s future earnings. As you can surmise, integrity is one of the top criteria he recommends they use as a yardstick.

Watch and meditate on how this trait can help you in your selling.
