Salvation Saturday beats Black Friday

You may feel trapped in a weird spot this holiday weekend: the commercialism of Black Friday turns your gut, but you’re grateful for a job that allows you to sell, sell, sell, so you can get more, more, more revenue in your company’s boat…and commissions in your pocket.
Understandable.
Don’t let those thoughts overwhelm you today; remember the truth:
1. You love The Sales Life, and you love chasing and closing deals. (There’s nothing wrong with that at all.)
2. You love and respect capitalism.
3. You don’t love certain elements of consumerism, and you know Black Friday deals (and more stuff) don’t bring happiness.
For the remainder of this weekend, focus on doing something entirely for you. If that’s shopping, cool! Don’t feel guilty. If it’s sitting on the couch, watching hours of football… same.
If you need help slowing it down, try this meditation with Chris Hemsworth.
