Frank Zappa is one of the most delightfully intriguing figures ever to make music. His ideas were always fresh and unique, which made him an idol to millions.

In his personal life and music, he was weird and sharp in equal measure, and he bestowed vital positivity upon everything he touched.

Frank’s father was a scientist who didn’t make much money, so he would bring home flasks, vials, and even gas masks for Frank to play with. Frank easily entertained himself, at times spilling liquid mercury on the floor and playing with it.

It must have been freeing to have lived as Frank did.

What could you do this weekend to feel that freedom that Frank obviously felt every day?

To inspire you, watch this short clip as Frank explains his perspective on guitar solos. His commentary is very Zappa!
