12/3/2024-Your REALLY fun holiday party (??)

Published on

Skill

Where else are ya gonna wear your bad holiday sweater that Aunt Alice bought you last year? Proudly wear it at your office holiday party in her honor…make Alice’s year!

Do you dread your company holiday party?

Or is it the opposite…you’re excited to wear that yellow dress or tuxedo of yours and jello-shoot your way ’til midnight?

Why not bring that open mind and heart of yours to your holiday party this year and hang with folks you rarely hang with?

A good attitude will work on almost everything…even holiday shin-digs. If you decide to embrace the event and create excitement for this year’s party, you may surprise yourself with how much fun you’re having.

Do

Buy something new to wear to your party to put yourself in a good mood. It’ll psych you up if you’re not feeling it this year.

After that, head to the library in your brain and check out some holiday stories from your past that make you smile. You’ll feel great coming to the party looking good and ready with stories from your holiday past to share.

Whatever you do, stay away from the jello shots; the consumption of jiggly sugar booze rarely results in anything good.

Be happy that your company is throwing a holiday party…it wasn’t long ago that Covid shut that stuff down. (Admit it, you were bummed.)

At a minimum, the company buys you a few hors d’oeuvres and drinks. At best, you will have fun hanging with some good people and might even make a few memories. And new friends.

Do, however, watch what you say.

Remember that everyone is relaxed and swinging freely at these types of events. Many ships have been sunk at holiday office parties…keep yours afloat for the long voyage.

Oomph

Some might say Office Christmas Party is a sophomoric, infantile, moronic, frat-humor movie.

Others might say it’s LOL fun that’ll bring deep laughter and make you glad your holiday party is comparably dull.

Enjoy this (R-rated) trailer for the movie and remind yourself to make good decisions at this year’s party.

Quote of the day

"What I don’t like about office Christmas parties is looking for a job the next day." Phyllis Diller
