3/27/2025-Video pitch meetings…UGH!

Skill
Not every prospect and customer will want to meet you in person, but many will because they feel the same thing you do: job claustrophobia.
Video meetings are great if you can’t meet in person. However, they will never compare to F2F meetings if you’re trying to influence buyer decisions and motivate behaviors.
(Do you actually enjoy video pitch meetings?? …of course not.)
You have more control over where you meet with your customers than you think.
Do
Today, commit to pushing for a F2F meeting with your prospects and customers. This means you’ll need to devise reasons why it’s better to meet in person. This will tax your creativity, but that’s a good thing.
Try levity to appeal to the human on the other side of the desk. For example…
"Hey, Mr Prospect, I’m tired of Zoom…how ’bout you? Wanna meet in person and practice our humanity on each other?"
Even if you move the ratio of video-to-F2F meetings a tiny bit, you’ll inch closer to the optimal role of influencing decisions!
You voluntarily enlisted into a sales career because you love interacting with people, influencing decisions, and helping them in their business. Sure, the commission checks don’t hurt, but you’re not one to sit on your arse and stare at a screen all day.
Look what’s happened along the way of your stellar career!
You sit at your desk and stare at a screen all day. (Oye!)
The only thing separating you from getting out of the office is your desire to do so. Not every prospect and customer will want to meet you in person, but many will because they feel the same thing you do: job claustrophobia. There are only so many places at home to bang on your laptop.
You fight to get meetings. You’ll just have to fight harder to get in person meetings. Push yourself to invent reasons that will get your customers to meet with you. The alternative stinks!
Oomph
The entrepreneurial guy (?) in this YT Short designed a product to help him get through boring Zoom meetings.
How rude and crass would it be if one of your buyers used his invention on you???
Fight the ridiculousness!
Get inside your customer’s office! Or, get outside and meet them in the park!
Whatever…wherever…meet them in person!
Quote of the day
“I joined a Zoom meeting in my pajamas and no one even noticed. It’s like my dream come true!” Anonymous
