Congrats on Q1

Skill
You’ve heard a variation of Cassey’s words here on MSD: "Manage your performance, not your results!"
Your manager primarily sees your Q1 production only in numbers; did you or did you not hit your number?
You, on the other hand, get up in the morning knowing it’s not just about your numbers…it’s about doing your best and growing your skills.
Whether you went crazy on your quota in Q1 – or not – congrats on all you learned and how your skills improved. Congrats on busting your butt and giving it your all.
Do
Celebrate your Q1 effort today by setting goals for how much more better you can be starting tomorrow. (Yes, "more better.")
Even if your Q1 commission was big, only you know if you gave your best effort in Q1.
If you didn’t, don’t shrug it off and move on merrily. Instead, figure out why your effort wasn’t 100% and bake the needed changes into your Q2 goals. Write those thoughts down today.
Confer with a peer or manager to help you assess what you could have done differently. Then, develop a plan to fix it.
Oomph
It’s easy to witness effort when watching sports, and this crazy-fun table tennis point is one for the ages. You’ll see more than "best effort" from these competitors. (The guy wearing black is SO sturdy…how he regains control of the point is unbelievable.)
Indulge yourself for a minute and admire their mastery – let it pump you up when thinking about your effort.
