5/27/2024-Happy Holiday: Memorial Day!

Skill
You’ve had many mentors who helped you get where you are tody as a seller, so why not take this Memorial Day and honor them with a phone call or text? Everyone will feel better about summer starting.
Yeah, Memorial Day is crazy fun in the U.S. After all, it’s the unofficial start of summer.
As most know, this day is to honor and mourn U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the armed forces.
The first national observance of Memorial Day occurred on May 30, 1868, when it was known as Decoration Day. Official recognition as a holiday spread among the states, beginning with New York in 1873. By 1890, every Union state had adopted it. (History’s cool, huh?)
So go enjoy your hot dogs, round of golf, hike, rafting trip – whatever – and remember your fallen heroes, too.
Do
While Memorial Day originated as a day to honor those who have fought for the U.S.A., what about those who helped you develop as a successful seller?
Along your path, you’ve learned from many influential folks; some were managers, and some were just those who took an interest in you. Perhaps some were buyers who helped you learn how to sell.
Reach out to a few today and say "thanks."
You’ll love connecting and sharing a little gratitude – and they’ll love hearing from you.
Your memory is a beautiful, powerful thing. Without one, there is no context or definition of where you’ve been, what you’ve done, and who you are.
Thankfully there’s Memorial Day to trigger your thoughts for the important ones in your life.
That includes family members and friends who gave their lives for their country, and those who helped you develop and grow into the professional seller you are today.
As you know, sales is a wonderful profession. It is one of the few jobs that combine technical applications (skills and best practices) with instincts and intuition (e.g., empathy and human connection).
The variables that lead to success are complex and numerous. And because there are countless paths to get to your goal – and a lot of human ingenuity involved – it makes the profession reliant on inspiration and assistance from others.
Call them "your team."
You know who they are. Talk to them today. Connect with at least one who you want to know how much you appreciate them. Your interaction will make this wonderful summer holiday that much better.

"Ladies and gentlemen, to celebrate the start of summer, put your hands together and give a roaring welcome to Mungo Jerry to help us get in that seasonal mood we’ve been yearning for…!"
If this version of In the Summertime doesn’t put a smile on your face and make you excited for the season, nothing else will.
Quote of the day
"Without memory, there is no culture. Without memory, there would be no civilization, no society, no future." Elie Wiesel
