Skill

You have learned and acquired many skills that have propelled you to your current state, but how will you keep moving forward? Keep growing, or you’ll watch even the slowest competitor move past you.

On this day in 1986, Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt was born.

Usain won Gold medals in the 100 and 200-meter races in an unprecedented three straight Olympic Games (’08, ’12, and ’16). As such, Bolt is considered the greatest sprinter of all time.

So why is this important to you, fast-moving seller?

Running fast helps in the sales game…time is your ultimate enemy.

But you know it takes more than running fast to win in sales, and so did Usain in his pursuit of Gold. Sprinting isn’t unlike sales…they both require intense training and technique.

Do

Tap into your training mindset today and work on your skill muscles.

Which of your skills need immediate training attention by you?

This might be obvious…but it’s important to remember you won’t get faster sitting in the stands watching everyone else run around the track.

If it helps, envision your competition doing a training exercise this very minute.

How ya gonna answer?

Plan your work, work your plan. Skills atrophy unless you work them.

At his peak, Usain Bolt trained six days a week, 11 months a year. He went to the gym for 90 minutes daily, training to improve his speed, agility, and endurance to improve his core muscles and strength.

Usain’s workout combined strength exercises at the gym with speed drills at the track. As such, he built a powerful body that earned him the title of Fastest Man Alive over a half-decade.

What will it take to earn Best Seller Alive status throughout your prime?

Start with continuous learning and feedback. Sure, skill training is key and should be an ongoing process, but you’ll need to open your mind and seek feedback from many who will be honest with you about your skill gaps.

Like sprinting down a track, sales breeds younger, faster, smarter competition. Stand still for one second, and you’ll get lapped.

Oomph

Wanna watch Usain Bold throw up?

Of course, you don’t.

But you do want to watch an authentic slice of his workout routine.

Usain poignantly offers, "The work is behind the scenes… competition is the easy part."

Train and prepare like Usain…push yourself. If that’s not enough, hire someone to push you.

Quote of the day
