But can your Mgr. spin plates?

Skill

True or false…your sales manager’s job is to close deals for you?

False.

They’re your opportunities…you close ’em.

You’re expected to qualify them, advance them, negotiate them, and close them. But don’t confuse ownership with going it alone.

Those in the TOP 10% know when to ask for another set of eyes…before the deal goes sideways. Your manager can’t help if they don’t know you need it.

Do

Your manager can’t read your mind, so be proactive and approach them with a sticky situation before it blows up. (Nobody likes surprises, least of all your manager.)

Today, enlist your manager to help you move a stalled opportunity forward.

Present a brief, specific summary of the situation, along with what you’ve done to date.

More importantly, recommend two or three possible solutions and explain the thinking behind each. Your manager loves watching your brain work!

Oomph

Yeah, your manager’s got lots going on…

…but probably not more than this guy.

Erich Brenn’s classic 3-minute performance on The Ed Sullivan Show is a fun reminder that keeping multiple plates spinning is harder than it looks.

Quote of the day

After one look at this planet, any visitor from outer space would say, ‘I want to see the manager.‘
