8/8/2025-“I’ll spend my time MY way!”

Some sellers get a tad indignant when they hear the words "time management." ("Don’t be judging me on where I spend my time!")

But TM is a productivity game…not a judgment game. And these keys may help you focus on the P…not the J:

1. Chart where you spend your time…and learn from it.
2. Build a disciplined scheduling system…and say "no" willingly.
3. Align calendar time against your goals.

But mostly, it’s about #3.

You may think you’re being productive churning through things on your ToDo list, but if that time spent is not aligned against goals, you’re not "Time Effective."

Do

It doesn’t pay to be a time martyr, so break the habit of blaming time.

No more bad talking "time." (What did time ever do to you?)

Avoid saying things like, "I don’t have the time." Or, "I ran out of time."

Or the worst, "I’m so busy."

Fess up: You roll your eyes when others say those things. Everyone’s busy.

Nothing you say will change the fact that there are 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour, etc.

Today, don’t berate time.

Oomph

"I’m not gonna put my toilet visits in a diary!" is a classic line from this 2-minute parody about calendar management.

The ridiculous banter between the boss and his admin highlights how TM gets silly.

Forget trying to "master time." Instead, focus on your goals and you’ll do great.

Quote of the day

"Time management is an oxymoron. Time is beyond our control, and the clock keeps ticking regardless of how we lead our lives. Priority management is the answer to maximizing the time we have." John C. Maxwell
