9/5/2025-Internal meetings ARE your bag
Published on
Skill
Don’t poo-poo the importance of internal meetings. How you present yourself, participate, collaborate, and manage your bored facial expressions in company meetings is important.
Certainly, you don’t spend as much time prepping for internal meetings as you do a buyer pitch, but what would happen if you arrived at every internal meeting having done more homework than the next seller?
Bring your best self everywhere and see how much it elevates you and those around you.
Do
This morning, spend a few extra minutes prepping for today’s internal meetings.
Head into your meetings having done more:
…more attention,
…more proactive, strategic thinking,
…more open-mindedness, and
…more willingness to help make the meeting valuable and efficient.
After the meeting, give feedback to the leader…even if the leader is your manager.
Your role in meetings is not to sit back; it’s to sit forward.
Oomph
Wouldn’t it be fun to show up in company meetings with the same approach and energy Jim Carrey brings to this outrageous scene in Liar Liar?
Of course, there’s a line between unfiltered honesty and constructive feedback, but you owe it to your team, your company, and yourself to show up and participate fully in every meeting.
