1/3/2025-Tis the season for your manifesto

Daily Quote

“I have a personal ambition to live my life honestly and honor the true love that I’ve had and also the people I’ve had around me. I want to stay hopeful, even though I get scared about why we’re even alive at all.” Lana Del Rey

SKILL

Resolutions get a bad rap this time of the year, but they’re still a sturdy, goal-oriented tool.

Manifestos are better.

Manifestos cement belief systems that guide daily behaviors, especially during stressful and challenging times.

Given the discipline needed to be successful each year, you need a rigorous goal-setting protocol and a manifesto.

Creating a personal manifesto codifies your commitment to who you are, what you do, and why you do it.

DO

Carve some do not disturb time today and work on your 2025 manifesto.

Begin your declarations with “I believe…” and list as many as you want.

Don’t try to slot your “I believes…” into “personal” or “work.” Just let ’em flow…write ’em down as they come.

Try it. And edit liberally.

Define what you believe in and why it matters to you, and you’ll create a personal value code that will help you in every phase of your life.

OOMPH

This TED Talk from Ramat Tejani offers a great story and a manifesto blueprint that will ignite your creativity.

Ramat offers an incredibly honest realization of what a manifesto does for her, “I was so focused on doing what I thought was expected of me rather than doing what was right for me.”

Good for you, Ramat.
