3/3/2025-Your Q1 expects a final push

Skill

Not everything in sales has to be a strategic move – sometimes, it’s about tactics and being in the right place at the right time.

28 calendar days remain in Q1…but what about selling days?

If there’s a smidgen of a chance of an opening of a shot of a possibility for more Q1 revenue, now is the time to step on the gas.

While you don’t want to pull a hammy sprinting through the finish line, you must prove to yourself and your manager that you will push for every drop.

Not giving up means dismissing assumptions about your accounts and opportunities. Never assume they’re done for the quarter until you know for sure.

Do

What incentives can you create today to help close Q1 business? What can you invent to get them to add money this month?

Present a case so compelling for each account that you’d be embarrassed to send it through email. (Remember, email is a good utility tool but a horrible selling tool.)

CALL your buyers with your proposal…don’t email them. (Ok fine, email first…’cuz that’s how you roll. BUT CALL THEM TOO!)

You say when Q1 is done, not anyone else.

Accelerate through the end of the quarter…don’t DEcelerate.

Even if you’ve canvassed all prospects probing whether or not there’s any money left for the quarter…do it again. Make another round of calls. You never know when something has changed inside the prospect’s org that may loosen up budgets you can chase and get.

The TOP 10% get to where they are because they’ve mastered skills, and have perfected the art of applying constant pressure on all of their prospects and clients.

Not everything in sales has to be strategic – sometimes, it’s about tactics and being in the right place at the right time.

Create your own luck…stay visible and be persistent.
